Where to watch Zombieland 2 Double Tap - DVD, Blu-ray, digital, rental and stream online release date UK

Tongue-in-lacerated-cheek post-apocalyptic comedies that work don’t come along too often, which is why the Zombieland 2 Double Tap DVD, Blu-ray and digital release date (UK details below) was worth penciling into your “dear broken world” diary. It’s got a great cast and builds on the success of the first film, so it should be one to catch either to buy, rent or stream on iTunes and Amazon Prime Video.

Jessie Eisenberg (Batman vs. Superman: Dawn Of Justice) was the lead character for Zombieland, but this time around it looks like the focus will be shot gun spread across the four main characters, as you can see from the poster for the film above. In all fairness the first movie had similar imagery of the cast in the posters, but the story itself was led by Eisenberg’s Columbus character, who managed to bring the group together after a number of zombie near misses.

Woody Harrelson (War For The Planet Of The Apes) reruns as Tallahassee, Emma Stone (Birdman) is back as Wichita, who revealed her real name to be Krista at the end the opening film, and Abigail Breslin (August: Osage County) plays her younger sister Little Rock. They’re joined by new additions to the Zombieland cast with Rosario Dawson (Wonder Woman: Bloodlines), Zooey Deutch, Luke Wilson and Thomas Middleditch getting in on the survivor action.

The plot picks up with the four of them not long after the last-ditch escape from Pacific Playground amusement park. Now even tougher zombie-slayers, they manage to take the White House, but as with any semi-functional family setup there’s bound to be a few challenges in the early days and when Little Rock goes awol with a hippie hitchhiker they all need to saddle up and head out on a roadtrip to save her. However, with a new mutant zombie type to take on and other survivors out in the wilderness it’s going to push them to the edge of their double-tapping rules.

The Zombieland 2 Double Tap DVD and Blu-ray release date was Monday the 24th February in the UK, following on from its cinema run in October 2019. The opening film did pretty well when it came out back in 2009 and it has since gone on to be regarded as a bit of a cult classic, so it will also be available on 4K Ultra HD with a release date the same as the other physical formats.

It was available to own it first with the digital release on iTunes and Amazon Video where it was available a couple of weeks earlier, so Monday 10th February 2020. The digital rental followed with a release on the same date as the DVD and Blu-ray, and it’s still available on iTunes to-date.

Runtime and digital file size

Zombieland 2 has a runtime of 1 hour 33 minutes, so it’s going to be a short wild ride across America. This will give it a digital file size of around 3.79Gb at 1080p in high definition, 3.42Gb at 720p HD and 1.6Gb in standard definition. If you’re considering the digital version then check available space on your PC, Mac, PS4 or Xbox ONE hard drive before you download.

UK cinema release date

Zombieland 2 Double Tap had a UK release date of Friday the 18th October on the big screen and it came out in the USA and Canada on the same date. It was be up against Farmageddon A Shaun the Sheep Movie and Maleficent 2 for the box office crown in the UK, which are both out in the same week. ZL2 should do pretty well, but we’re expecting Maleficent: Mistress Of Evil to take the #1 spot.

Zombieland 2 double tap age rating and parents guide

The Zombieland 2 Double Tap age rating has been confirmed for the UK by the British Board Of Film Classification (BBFC) as 15, which is the same as the first film. It has strong bloody comic violence and strong language as it’s parents guide notes, and you can see from the trailer below how that comes across in the sequel.
